Strip 17: The Ballad of Pinkybottom Slaughterhouse

In looking for ways to punch up this conversation, I went back to an old idea I had in the original draft of Part II. In that version, Part II began immediately after the end of Part I, with Dy-Gar and Roger camping out in a convenience store the night before heading to the spaceport. While I ultimately discarded the scene to speed up the pacing of the story, one of the parts I liked most about it was Roger coming up with an elaborate, sarcastic theory that explained the mysteries surrounding Dy-Gar’s life as the work of a space wizard named LORD PUSHKAR DJASCUTIBUTI. Alex was into designing cartoon wizards at the time. Unfortunately, the scene never made it to the concept art phase, and it’s been approximately 7 years(!) since that draft of the story was written, so I don’t even remember what I had in mind. Would he have been a cyborg wizard? A cutesy sparkly-hat Merlin type? A Hindu god? We’ll never know.
