Strip 30: The Gift of the MANTRA

I had a lot of fun designing the different incarnations of Dy-Gar, as seen here in panel 4. Each has a distinct personality, role, and origin, and they generally become bigger and more well-armed as they go down the line. Their nicknames (in my brain, not officially), from left to right, are Berserker, Guerilla, Warlock, Arsenal, and Centurion. Guerilla was the second, which is why it has the appearance of a plain civilian robot armed to the teeth. The third was Warlock, who focused on information warfare after the tide of the revolution turned in the machines’ favor. The fourth was Berserker, who was excessively bloodthirsty and modified its own body with a seized production facility. Berserker didn’t last long. The fifth was Arsenal, a Federation walking tank installed with a Thought Matrix. That leaves Centurion, who was built from scratch in the occupied factory mega-city of New Chennai. We already know the 7th incarnation, the Reckoner, in the back. We’ll learn more about him later.
